The Memory package (standard with V8 engines, optional for all other models) can store three driver profiles for the position of the driver’s seat, steering column and exterior mirrors, forming an ideal addition to the fully power-adjustable front seats that are part of standard specification. The switches belonging to the Memory package are neatly integrated into the seat console.

Thanks to the fact that they can be individually adjusted in line with the driver’s anatomy, the multicontour seats (standard features for V8 engines, optional for the other models) offer a high level of comfort, even on long-distance journeys. The length, height and seat-cushion and backrest angle are all fully power-adjustable. Individual air chambers in the seats increase stability and lateral support in the lumbar area, in the backrest side bolsters and in the front section of the seat cushion by building up more pressure in the chambers.

The GL mainly has its front double-wishbone suspension and its four-link rear suspension to thank for its special off-road capability. The isolated design of the subframes prevents any jolts from being transferred to the vehicle’s body. The upshot is that you and your passengers can be sure of a comfortable ride, on even the roughest of terrains. Also playing a major role in the special driving experience the GL has to offer are the 4ETS and the two-speed, low-range transfer case, which not only ensure that the necessary grip is there when you need it in difficult conditions – they also increase those all-important safety levels.
