Lavish on driving pleasure, thrifty on fuel: the SL 300. Its 6-cylinder drive unit with 170 kW develops a maximum 300 Nm of torque, which makes it particularly torquey in the engine speed range from 2500 to 5000 rpm. You get in, fire up the engine, and your heart starts beating faster. And that’s the way it stays – even after the drive. You’ll be even happier when you look at the fuel gauge. That’s because the SL 300 is extremely economical on fuel.
The only thing you might find difficult about the SL 350 is to ignore it. Its 6-cylinder engine delivers 232 kW and, with its 360 Nm of torque, its pulling power is apparent as soon as the accelerator pedal is pressed. From zero to 100 km/h in just 6.2 seconds – the 3498 cc sports engine has enormous power reserves under the bonnet. Thanks to a higher compression ratio and a cylinder head with optimised inlet port, improved air supply and higher airflow, there are practically no limits to this driving pleasure. And the environment also benefits: significant reductions in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions have been achieved.

If you want your motoring pleasure to include a superb sound experience, the SL 500 is the ideal choice. Its unmistakable 8-cylinder baritone engine lets you know what the vehicle is capable of. 285 kW and a maximum torque rating of 530 Nm accelerate the SL 500 from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 5.4 seconds. In order to achieve these values, a special cylinder head was designed for the V8 engine. Each pair of intake and outlet valves is controlled via continuously variable camshaft adjustment, enabling an optimum combustion process. This reduces fuel consumption and pollutant emissions – and above all increases engine power.
Driving sportiness to the highest level is one of our favourite disciplines and is perfectly executed in the SL. The SL 63 AMG is dynamic and brimming with emotion – thanks to a high-capacity AMG 8-cylinder engine with 386 kW output and 630 Nm of torque. Its innovative AMG 7-speed SPEEDSHIFT MCT sports transmission combines the sportiness and spontaneity of a manual transmission with the comfort of an automatic transmission. Driving comfort is further enhanced by four transmission modes. The AMG sports transmission also features a Race Start function to ensure optimum acceleration with the best possible tractive power – just like in motorsport.

The SL 600 is extremely versatile, the epitome of driving refinement. With its twelve cylinders, 380 kW output and a maximum torque of 830 Nm, it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in a breathtaking 4.5 seconds. The V12 engine draws its power from a combination of two turbochargers and an intercooler. A blend of state-of-the-art Mercedes-Benz engine technologies generates outstanding response, maximum torque at low revs, and low fuel consumption. A healthy balance is maintained – along with a hefty dose of happiness. Because whatever you leave behind as you power ahead in the SL 600, you can be sure it won't be your driving pleasure.
