Effective power transmission calls for a transmission system tailored to the engine’s power rating. The Axor comes with different transmission systems to suit a variety of application scenarios and the power of the engine is always transferred to the road as directly as possible.

The 175 kW (238 hp) vehicles are equipped with a 6-speed transmission. The 9-speed direct-drive transmission, standard in the 188 kW (256 hp) all-wheel-drive tipper, 210 kW (286 hp) and 240 kW (326 hp), is optimally suited to the demands of driving on construction sites and allows precise manoeuvring and easy starting on gradients. In conjunction with a 16-speed overdrive transmission, Axor vehicles developing 210 kW (286 hp) and above are also available with the Telligent® gearshift which almost instantaneously selects the ideal gear with respect to both the current driving situation and maximum fuel-efficiency.
