Goethe-Institut in partnership with the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) is bringing the short film section of the Berlinale 2014 to the Philippines!
As part of the 64th annual Berlin International Film Festival, ten short films – especially curated for Southeast Asia – will be shown in two programs free of charge in four cities across the archipelago. The opening ceremony will be held at the FDCP Cinematheque in Baguio City on Saturday, November 15, at 2:30 PM.
Berlinale Shorts comprises international short films that demonstrate an innovative approach to film making. The films deal with current topics, ranging from surreal to real, from marvelous to cruel. They discuss a world that changes dramatically and endangers nature. A highlight of the screening will be Three Stones for Jean Genet, a seven-minute production by Germany's Frieder Schlaich, which depicts his friendship with the singer-songwriter Patti Smith.
