Auto Nation Group, Inc., the general distributor of Mercedes-Benz in the Philippines, has officially opened its own tracks going to the fairways through its traditional MercedesTrophy Sponsors and Champions Night, held on March 13 at the Shangri-La Makati Hotel in Makati City.
As a tradition, the night kicked off the road to the brand’s annual sponsored golf event, the MercedesTrophy, which is among the biggest and most celebrated golf tournaments in the country. The 12th MercedesTrophy is slated on March 27 at the Santa Elena Golf & Country Club in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
In 2016, MercedesTrophy Philippines champion Joseph Sy advanced to MercedesTrophy Asian Final and qualified to be part of Team Asia, which competed in MercedesTrophy World Final 2016, held in October in Gold Coast Australia.
“We are excited to add up new winners to our list of golf champions, with high hopes that we will again be sending the best player to the regional and global tournaments, just like what we did in 2016,” said ANG President Felix Ang.
Ang also announced the Hole-in-One prize: the masterpiece of intelligence, E-Class. He also noted that the upcoming MercedesTrophy will also raise a charitable donation to the Cardinal Medical Charities Foundation, Inc., a non-government group that grants medical assistance to needy patients. “Our players and sponsors can take pride in helping a charity while playing golf,” Ang said.
MercedesTrophy Philippines 2017 is supported by its sponsors: Makati Shangri-La Hotel, PLDT Alpha, Philippine Airlines, Shell, QBE Seaboard Insurance, Inc., TW Steel, Security Bank Corporation, Business Mirror, Boysen, and Remy Martin.
